Keep my plate

When you change your vehicle, you have 4 months to register your new vehicle under the same plate number if it is in the same plate category as your current plate.

What's in it for you?

You will save an average of €24 in 2025: no reproduction for the front plate and the difference in fees between the plate and the registration certificate only.

How do I apply?

Complete the registration application form (FR-NL-DE only) for your next vehicle by ticking ‘YES’ in Box A ‘plate available’ and enter your current plate number. 

Please note: If you have an number plate in the old format, you will automatically receive a new number plate in the European format. Don't forget to have the old number deregistrated when you receive the new one.
