U-space in Practice: From Lessons Learned to Future Challenges | 10 April 2024
Join us to make an initial status update of the U-space Regulation, one year after it became applicable This event “U-space in Practice: From Lessons Learned to Future Challenges” is organised by the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mobility, Mr Georges Gilkinet, in collaboration with EUROCONTROL and EASA.

Goal
Drones offer a wide range of possibilities, particularly as a promising alternative in terms of modal shift. By supporting a safe, secure, and efficient integration in airspace the implementation of the U-space Regulation is considered a key enabler for the emergence of the drone sector.
Adopted in 2021, the U-space Regulation became applicable in 2023. The objective of this U-space event is to provide a status update on the implementation of the regulation from a regulatory perspective.
Firstly, the event will provide a general overview of the implementation of the U-space Regulation across Europe. Then, lessons learned from three countries will be presented. Finally, you will be invited to engage in insightful panel discussions on the challenges of “emerging European U-space market players” and of “social acceptance”.
Programme
The speeches and panels to be held during the one-day event will feature high-level guests such as the Acting Executive Director of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.
